Glycerin is already naturally found in your skin. It helps moisturize and protect your skin.

A study from 2016 found glycerin to be more effective as a humectant than AHAs and hyaluronic acid.

As a humectant, it helps the skin stay hydrated by pulling moisture to your skin. The low molecular weight of glycerin allows it to pull moisture into the deeper layers of your skin.

Hydrated skin improves your skin barrier; Your skin barrier helps protect against irritants and bacteria.

Glycerin has also been found to have antimicrobial and antiviral properties. Due to these properties, glycerin is often used in wound and burn treatments.

In cosmetics, glycerin is usually derived from plants such as soybean or palm. However, it can also be sourced from animals, such as tallow or animal fat.

This ingredient is organic, colorless, odorless, and non-toxic.

Glycerin is the name for this ingredient in American English. British English uses Glycerol/Glycerine.

The texture of this formula is gel like but feels so smooth and soft on the skin, it didn't break me out even though I have combination acne=prone skin and I love the hydrating effect- Although, if your skin is flaking out w/ dryness, this is not enough to hydrate it.

Bad Reaction
I used this product two nights in a row. Woke up after the second application and noticed my skin was feeling very dry, tight and scaly. Throughout the day my skin became redder and I noticed small spots appearing across my entire face. The next day my face was covered in whiteheads and painful pustules. 5 days later and my face is still covered in these painful spots. I've never had a reaction to a product before, I've never suffered from acne and I don't have sensitive skin. I checked the ingredients and none of them struck me as huge irritants but it does contain a lot of perfume which explains the strong artificial scent.
