In a 2004 study, Gluconolactone was found to prevent UV damage in mouse skin cells. Gluconolactone has not been found to increase sun sensivity. However, we still recommend wearing SPF daily.

Salix Alba Bark Extract has often been described as salicylic acid's cousin. This is due to the salicin it contains. However, studies are limited showing salix alba bark to be an effective salicylic acid alternative.

A NEW HOLY GRAIL
This product is an underrated gem in acne care! I can’t remember the last time I’ve gone through a product so quickly, but this just works so well for keeping my skin smooth and clear of acne. For me the star ingredients in this product are the 4-terpineol and the PHA. 4-terpineol is such an amazing underrated ingredient; it’s the isolated acne fighting components taken from tea tree oil. By isolating out the 4-terpinol from the tea tree oil, it leaves you with an ingredient that fights bacteria, redness, and inflammation, but with a much lower chance of causing irritation that is very commonly associated with essential oils like tea tree. PHAs are my favorite chemical exfoliant because of how gentle yet effective they are. Gluconolacctone (the PHA in this product) is also a humectant so it hydrates your skin as well as exfoliates it. This product also contains several forms of hyaluronic acid and glycerin too, so it’s very hydrating. This product smells faintly of tea tree (probably from the tea tree water) but the smell doesn’t linger so if you’re not fan of the smell of tea tree, please note that the smell doesn’t last very long. Plus, I got this toner for only $10! It’s super affordable! I recommend this product to anyone suffering from acne— especially those with inflammatory acne caused by bacteria. It’s amazing!
