Methylpropanediol is able to add a bit of moisture to the skin. It also helps other ingredients be better absorbed into the skin, such as salicylic acid.

My 1st product to help with pigmentation
Texture: Lightweight serum. Slightly moisturizing.
Scent: No scent
Performance: Brighten and lighten acne scar if consistently used.
Pros: Contain ceramide for skin barrier.
Cons: Contain PEG. Pump might stuck sometimes. Symwhite 377 is behind Niacinamide in ingredient list.
