Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Skin Conditioning

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 is a 3-amino acid peptide. Peptides are building blocks for protein.

This ingredient is a signal peptide, meaning it tells our skin to create collagen. Collagen is a protein that makes connective tissue. Boosting collagen production leads to a healthier skin barrier. Having a healthy skin barrier means having firm and hydrated skin.

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 can help reduce wrinkles and make the skin look more youthful.

Skin Conditioning

This synthetic, signal peptide has unique skin conditioning properties in that is a matrikine-mimetic compound.

First of all, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 is a signal peptide; signal peptides tell the body to create more collagen.

What is a matrikine-mimetic compound?

This peptide has the ability to mimic matrikines in skin. Our skin created matrikines by breaking down matrix proteins into peptides.

Matrikines play a role in:

Though further research is needed, this ingredient seems pretty promising. In one study, women over the age of 40 with visible photoaging used a vitamin C serum with this ingredient for 56 days (15% ascorbid acid, 5 ppm palmitoyl tripeptide‐38). The results found improvement in skin roughness and skin tone.

Humectant, Skin Conditioning

Sodium Hyaluronate is hyaluronic acid's salt form. It is commonly derived from the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid.

Like hyaluronic acid, it is great at holding water and acts as a humectant. This makes it a great skin hydrating ingredient.

Sodium Hyaluronate is naturally occurring in our bodies and is mostly found in eye fluid and joints.

These are some other common types of Hyaluronic Acid:

I think this is a beautifully formulated acne-prone safe Peptide serum. Although it can sometimes be a bit tacky to use with different products, it gives a lovely glow.

What I like:
- Matrixyl 3000
- Argireline
- Synth6
- Blend of amino acids
- No acne prone ingredients (sodium chloride isn't that bad)

What I dislike:
- Tackiness
- Castor Oil

I have a 25yr old acne prone skin Show more

Watery but good
Although I prefer creamy serums over watery or oily ones, this one is still pretty pleasant, and I like how it hydrates as well as giving me the peptide boost I need.

Works and then day after lips are extra peely

Somehow this really works for me as a lip balm to prevent chapped lips! My lips are chronically peeling and have not found anything that does not irritate them further.

I can only attest to the clear, coloured products usually dry me out but perhaps I'll try one when I'm feeling brave and report back.

I think this would work better as a lip serum under a moisturizer; because it’s super thin and on its own dissipates very fast. Thought it says to only use it like 3times a day??? When it dried up it left my lips extremely dry and peeling, not to mention it had an awful taste.
