Bentonite is an aluminium phyllosilicate clay with great absorbent properties. The name 'bentonite' comes from the area where the largest source is found: Fort Benton, Wyoming.
As a clay, bentonite is often used to absorb excess oil and provide exfoliation. It has also been shown to have some antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies show bentonite was effective at calming dermatitis from poison ivy and in diaper dermatitis of infants. Bentonite has also been shown to act as a barrier against toxic compounds on your skin.

I feel that this is one of those products that is advertised to be convenient, but didn't really seem that way to me. I found that even though the mask was easy to apply with the stick, it was still somewhat difficult to rise off (took about 4-5 rinses to remove it completely). Ooop this worked so well for me. The ease of application was amazing and it didn’t dry me out which I did expect (I have dry sensitive and rosacea prone skin). I wanted to remove some sebaceous filaments from my nose. I took a before (top and after double cleanse) and after picture and it totally worked. I use this once in a while when i feel that my skin is extremly oily. Use it only on my T zone (I have Very dry cheeks). Its Very good in cleaning pores and removing oiliness and it also provides hydration. Like it more than BOJ clay mask
