Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Skin Conditioning, Solvent

Water. It's the most common cosmetic ingredient of all. You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product.

So why is it so popular? Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation.

You'll also recognize water as that liquid we all need to stay alive. If you see this, drink a glass of water. Stay hydrated!

Skin Conditioning

Ethylhexylglycerin (we can't pronounce this either) is commonly used as a preservative and skin softener. It is derived from glyceryl.

You might see Ethylhexylglycerin often paired with other preservatives such as phenoxyethanol. Ethylhexylglycerin has been found to increase the effectiveness of these other preservatives.

Main SPF
This sunscreen is the best I've tried so far and leaves a matte finish after drying which I really like because I dislike sticky/oily finishes. It has a minimal white cast (I apply 3 fingers each side of the face), but I like it so because it hides blemishes and my skin looks smoother. It's good for sensitive skin and does not break me out and it is also mineral which is healthier.

Leaves white cast
It may be due to The Ordinary's Nicacinamide serum before putting on this sunscreen but I noticed that when I sweated, it left white casts or sweat streaks on my face. Not pretty at all. So I decided to use it on my body (arms and legs), same thing, white streaks and cannot be easily removed with soap double cleanse (when I left my makeup remover for my face).
