While I usually enjoy Purito's eco-friendly and cruelty-free skincare, this moisturizer left me underwhelmed. It's marketed as 'soothing, cooling, and hydrating,' and while it is indeed hydrating and soothing, it doesn't stand out in terms of cooling - similar to other gel-based moisturizers.
To get some use out of it, I started keeping it in the fridge and applying it as an after-sun treatment on my shoulders, arms, and chest after activities like hiking, swimming, or cycling. It contains Aloe barbadensis leaf extract as the 10th ingredient. Even though I don’t tan, it still works well for après-sun purpose.
The texture is a bit odd, reminding me of the slimy tissue that stores water inside aloe leaves. It glides on easily and feels nice at first, but once the aloe gel sets, it leaves a tacky residue on the skin, creating a protective film that locks in moisture. There's a subtle scent - not a fragrance, but something inherent to the product itself. Overall, I won't be repurchasing this one.
