Water. It's the most common cosmetic ingredient of all. You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product.
So why is it so popular? Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation.

It's an extremely efficient moisturizer, the skin really stays hydrated all day without feeling dry, the sensation on the skin is of water being absorbed, it's very light. My skin also felt stronger with continued use, and I think it makes what it promises.
I wanted so badly to like this product. All skin patch tests on my neck and inner elbow, done on different days, resulted in an itchy and sometimes burning sensation. The product also leaves a sticky feeling, though it does absorb after 3 or so hours—which is too long for a face moisturizer.
