Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Skin Conditioning, Solvent

Water. It's the most common cosmetic ingredient of all. You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product.

So why is it so popular? Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation.

You'll also recognize water as that liquid we all need to stay alive. If you see this, drink a glass of water. Stay hydrated!

Ananas Sativus Fruit Extract comes from the pineapple fruit. Pineapples are native to South America. The components of pineapple give it mild exfoliating and skin nourishing properties.

Pineapples contain Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, copper, potassium, niacin, and other minerals. It also contains many phytochemicals, including ferulic acid, coumaric acid, arbutin, and more. These help condition the skin.

Godawful packaging. That alone takes off two stars.

The gel cream itself has a nice consistency and is lightweight. My skin looks less dull when I use this cream and feels hydrated. It absorbs okay, it leaves a very thin film which makes my skin feel soft. The thin film doesn't bother me until later in the day, when my skin feels a bit oilier especially around my nose.

I really like this Show more

Received a sample with purchase from Ulta. I have combination skin, leaning toward dry/sensitive in the winter, and oily in summer. This product works well. Doesn't seem to cause breakouts or irritation. Moisturizes as it says. It does have a strange smell - not unpleasant, but not great either. Edit: It seems that this product is supposed to be white and thick - the sample I received was runny Show more
