Ingredients Explained
These ingredients are found in both products.
Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.
Water. It's the most common cosmetic ingredient of all. You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product.
So why is it so popular? Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation.
You'll also recognize water as that liquid we all need to stay alive. If you see this, drink a glass of water. Stay hydrated!
Learn more about WaterButylene Glycol (or BG) is used within cosmetic products for a few different reasons:
- It is a solvent, meaning that it helps to dissolve other ingredients. This also enhances the absorption of the product into one's skin.
- It is a humectant, which means that it helps attract moisture into the skin.
- It helps improve product application.
Overall, Butylene Glycol is a safe and well-rounded ingredient. It is unlikely to irritate skin, and works well with pretty much all other ingredients.
1,2-Hexanediol is a multi-tasker ingredient. It acts as a preservative to increase shelf-life and can aid other preservatives in preventing microbe growth. 1,2-Hexanediol also helps the skin retain moisture as a humectant.
In products that are water-based, this ingredient can help stabilize perfumes and fragrances. It can also help make the texture of products softer and more smooth.
Ethylhexylglycerin (we can't pronounce this either) is commonly used as a preservative and skin softener. It is derived from glyceryl.
You might see Ethylhexylglycerin often paired with other preservatives such as phenoxyethanol. Ethylhexylglycerin has been found to increase the effectiveness of these other preservatives.

This hybrid sunscreen offers a very shiny, dewy finish, that sometimes can look greasy because of the high shine, but the hydration payoff is great. It contains Cica, is gentle, hypoallergenic, vegan and cruelty-free, but is unfortunately not reef-safe. The texture is similar to that of a midweight lotion, and it blends into the skin without leaving a white cast. You’ll need to give it about four minutes to dry down properly. There’s no annoying pilling, it’s super easy to clean off, and the subtle scent is nice if you’re sensitive to smells. The sunscreen isn’t water-resistant, so it's not ideal for swimming. If you're okay with waiting a few minutes for it to set and don't mind some shine, it's an very good daily sunscreen choice.

Very nice to wear
A lovely facial SPF. Feels like a regular moisturizer, no sunscreen odor, and keeps my skin hydrated.

A good fungal acne safe moisturiser. If you apply it on dry skin (without sunscreen after it) it will be quite sticky for a few hours, but i've recently found out that if i apply it on damp skin theres little to no stickyness anymore!

This is hands down the best moisturizing cream I have ever tried. I have acnee prone skin, sensitive skin and I do not tolerate niacinamide. First of all, the ingredient list is soo clean, it has been so hard to find a hydrating cream without niacinamide or pore clogging ingredients. Second I usually break out every time I try a hydrating cream because I have oily skin and the creams do not get absorbed by my skin. I have been using this cream for a week now and my skin has never felt this healthy, when you apply the cream it could feel a bit sticky but when you wash your face you can see that your skin is still soft and hydrated, it's incredible. 10/10 would recommend.
