Leuconostoc comes from lactic acid.

Leuconostoc is used to make the traditional Korean side-dish, kimchi. It is also used to make sourdough bread (both incredibly yummy foods).

The retinol serum itself is 5 stars. The product feels wonderful on skin, retinol is an essential part of my nighttime routine. But the reason why I posted a 4 is because the bottle itself sucks. Why bother making it childproof? It's frustrating to try to use the dropper tool without it picking up nothing.
