Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Skin Conditioning, Solvent

Water. It's the most common cosmetic ingredient of all. You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product.

So why is it so popular? Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation.

You'll also recognize water as that liquid we all need to stay alive. If you see this, drink a glass of water. Stay hydrated!

Emollient, Skin Protecting, Solvent

Paraffinum Liquidum is also known as liquid paraffin. It is a type of highly refined mineral oil.

Like other oils, Paraffinum Liquidum has emollient properties. Emollients help soothe and soften the skin. By creating a barrier to trap moisture within, emollients help keep your skin hydrated.

Paraffinum Liquidum does not irritate the skin and is non-comedogenic.

Emulsifying

Sorbitan Isostearate is an emulsifer and cleaning agent. It is created from isostearic acid and sorbitol.

As an emulsifier, Sorbitan Isostearate prevents oils and water from separating.

Due to its isostearic acid base, it may not be safe for Malassezia or fungal acne.

I bought this after reading tips from a dermatologist, for irritated eyes / eye eczema. I, who have never had eczema, suddenly got red dry spots under my eyes last year (maybe from something in an eye cream). This cream worked to get rid of it. Can be used both as a cleanser and a cream. Strangely, I have had the spots come back a few times, but then I use this. Still only giving 4 points because Show more

An amazing cream for eczema-related issues. I use it on my eyes and face when I have a reaction to skincare and my skin becomes dry, red, stings, and starts peeling. However, I can only use it for a limited time, because after a while it starts making my face oily and clogs my pores. It has a thicker consistency, so it's better suited for winter. The downside is that it only lasts 6 months after Show more
