Glycerin is already naturally found in your skin. It helps moisturize and protect your skin.

A study from 2016 found glycerin to be more effective as a humectant than AHAs and hyaluronic acid.

As a humectant, it helps the skin stay hydrated by pulling moisture to your skin. The low molecular weight of glycerin allows it to pull moisture into the deeper layers of your skin.

Hydrated skin improves your skin barrier; Your skin barrier helps protect against irritants and bacteria.

Glycerin has also been found to have antimicrobial and antiviral properties. Due to these properties, glycerin is often used in wound and burn treatments.

In cosmetics, glycerin is usually derived from plants such as soybean or palm. However, it can also be sourced from animals, such as tallow or animal fat.

This ingredient is organic, colorless, odorless, and non-toxic.

Glycerin is the name for this ingredient in American English. British English uses Glycerol/Glycerine.

Gentle exfoliation + soothing ingredients!

I’ve really enjoyed using these toner pads after my micellar water (I don’t like using cleanser in the morning, too drying for my skin). The pads themselves have two sides (one rougher, and one softer) that provide gentle physical exfoliation, while the BHA chemically exfoliates the skin using betaine salicylate (which is a little more gentle than salicylic acid). These also contain heartleaf and centella which are soothing ingredients that I love! This product has never bothered my skin, even on days where my skin barrier is not in the best of shape. There’s also tea tree in these to help combat acne— and you can tell! These smell of tea tree, which I like but I know it’s not everyones favorite scent. It doesn't linger, but just be aware that these have fragrance. Also, when I first opened this product I didn’t feel like these pads had a ton of toner in them, but after using them I realized they weren’t dry, just really absorbent. After swiping my face I like to fold the little pad up and squeeze out any excess product into my other hand. You get a good amount of toner by doing this and you can apply that extra product onto your skin if desired. These are also on the more affordable side compared to other toner pads i’ve seen!

I recommend this product for acne prone skin, but if you are sensitive you may find the fragrance to be a bit strong so just keep that in mind.
