It's often used in formulations along with Caprylyl Glycol to preserve the shelf life of products.
Ethylhexylglycerin (we can't pronounce this either) is commonly used as a preservative and skin softener. It is derived from glyceryl.
You might see Ethylhexylglycerin often paired with other preservatives such as phenoxyethanol. Ethylhexylglycerin has been found to increase the effectiveness of these other preservatives.

It does a great job of making pores look practically invisible and leaves the skin feeling fresh without any tightness. Even when used daily during acne flare-ups, it doesn't disrupt the skin barrier. It also doubles well as a body cleanser for breakouts on the chest or back and noticeably reduces sebum production. It’s not a miracle worker but definitely worth a try!
Favorite exfoliating cleanser, not for everyday use though, I made this mistake and damaged my skin barrier

I've been using this cleanser for years now and we are inseparable. Such an underrated product! The texture is gel-like, doesn't lather but still provides a thorough cleanse and a "clean" feeling while being super gentle and non-stripping. It also promotes wound healing. I really wanted to like this product, and I did for about a week, until I started to break out. It was quite painful, little whiteheads along my jawline. I wondered if this was purging but looking at the ingredients I'm not convinced this product should do that. It may have something to do with the protective film it leaves on your skin, It appears to be derived from coconut oil.
