Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Cetyl Ethylhexanoate is an emollient ester. It comes from cetearyl alcohol and 2-ethylhexanoic acid.

Cetyl Ethylhexanoate is an emollient that adds a velvety feel to skin without being greasy or oily. Emollients help trap moisture into your skin, keeping your skin soft and hydrated.

Preservative

Phenoxyethanol is a preservative that has germicide, antimicrobial, and aromatic properties. Studies show that phenoxyethanol can prevent microbial growth. By itself, it has a scent that is similar to that of a rose.

It's often used in formulations along with Caprylyl Glycol to preserve the shelf life of products.

Skin Conditioning, Solvent

Water. It's the most common cosmetic ingredient of all. You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product.

So why is it so popular? Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation.

You'll also recognize water as that liquid we all need to stay alive. If you see this, drink a glass of water. Stay hydrated!

I use this as a make-up remover and it is amazing! It breaks down the make-up really well, I don't need to add another cleansing step after it and it leaves the skin feeling soft after.

Has a thick texture similar to olive oil and works well, but might require two or three pumps for stubborn eye makeup. Leaves a slight residue after emulsifying and washing off, but a foaming second cleanser takes care of that.

This is such an amazing product. I find with a lot of cleansing oils they break me out and this just doesn’t do that. I’ve found with other make up remover type cleansers they don’t remove the waterproof and long wear makeup I often use and this just melts everything away.
