Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Cetyl Ethylhexanoate is an emollient ester. It comes from cetearyl alcohol and 2-ethylhexanoic acid.

Cetyl Ethylhexanoate is an emollient that adds a velvety feel to skin without being greasy or oily. Emollients help trap moisture into your skin, keeping your skin soft and hydrated.

Emollient, Masking, Skin Conditioning

Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil is the oil derived from the seeds of a Sunflower. Sunflower seed oil is non-fragrant. It is an emollient, meaning it helps to soften the skin.

Sunflower seed oil contains many fatty acids. The fatty acids found in sunflower seeds include (from highest amount to least): linoleic acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, arachidic acid, oleic acid, and linolenic acid.

These fatty acids help the skin create ceramides. Ceramides play a role in repairing the skin barrier.

Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil helps moisturize the skin. This in turn helps the skin look more rejuvenated and smoother.

Sunflowers are rich in vitamin E.

Historians believe Indigenous cultures of North America domesticated sunflowers before corn. Thus they relied on sunflower oil for a variety of uses. One such use is moisturizing skin and hair.

Sunflower seed oil may not be fungal acne safe. We recommend speaking with a professional if you have any concerns.

This product really broke me out and clogged my pores badly, even with emulsifiying it with water like you're supposed to. It says its for sensitive skin and is supposed to be a mild version but it has a very strong scent and once burned my skin a bit near my nose area. The one good it did was i saw it actually remove some gunk from my pores while using.

I have fungal acne, dehydrated oily and acne prone skin, and I know it’s not recommended to use a oil cleanser for my skin type, however I find that an oil cleanser is the only thing that helps with my clogged pores especially after I’ve used a exfoliating toner the night before, for me this cleanser did a great job at scooping up my white heads and unclogging my clogged pores. It works and has an herby scent. Only thing is that it stings my eyes once I emulsify.
