The source of squalane may impact malassezia / fungal acne. This is because olive oil derived squalane can contain impurities such as fatty acids and plant waxes. Sugarcane derived squalane is recommended for anyone with malassezia concerns.
Is squalane vegan?
This depends on the source. Squalane can be derived from both plants and animals. Most squalane used in skincare comes from plants.

I used this back in 2022 and it worked really good and healed my acne really quickly when I needed it to. However, for some reason over time it just stopped working for me and didn’t have the same effect as it did before which really disappointed me because I loved it so much. It was still a really good product though.

Smell is like cabbage....
I think there is no problem with the smell... and I am very sensitive towards smells. I think it has a lovely consistency that feels nice on the skin. The ingredients speak for themselves. I would def recommend!
