Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

1
What it does: Humectant, Skin Conditioning, Solvent
Community Rating: Very Disliked

Propylene Glycol is an odorless, colorless liquid. As a humectant, it helps skin retain moisture. It also aids in delivering active ingredients.

Another role of this ingredient is preventing a product from melting or freezing. Propylene glycol also adds antimicrobrial properties to a product, elongating product lifespan.

This ingredient is considered an organic alcohol and commonly added into both cosmetics and foods.

Those with sensitive skin or conditions may deliver a rash when using this ingredient.

Cos De BAHA Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide contains this as ingredient number 2.

2
What it does: Buffering, Masking
Community Rating: Loved

Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring acid that is derived from grains. However, the lab-created form is typically used within cosmetic products as it has better shelf-stability.

It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of acne, rosacea, and other skin conditions. Azelaic acid helps reduce the growth of bacteria that cause acne and helps to reduce inflammation.

It also helps to improve the appearance of skin by reducing the production of sebum and unclogging pores.

Azelaic Acid also has antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help fight free-radicals. Free-radicals are molecules that may damage your skin cells, such as pollution.

One of the main benefits of azelaic acid is that it is gentle and well-tolerated by most people. It is also non-comedogenic, meaning that it will not clog pores.

Good & reliable azelaic acid product
I like this product because the formulation is effective and straightforward, it gets the job done without causing any irritation, it has no compatibility issues with other products , it feels right on the skin and it's affordable and easy to get if you live in europe. There are formulations I like a little bit better (Peach Slices) but they are way too expensive and inacessible for me to buy on a regular basis. Q+A azelaic acid is the next best thing that is much more friendly on the wallet and easier to mantain on a regular routine.

I’m on my third bottle
Want a simple, hydrating, scentless, and affordable azelaic acid serum? Look no further! Azelaic acid is well tolerated by many and for me I’ve noticed great improvements regarding redness. There was a short period of time when I cut this out of my routine, and that’s when I noticed how much it had been doing to reduce redness in my skin. This serum also contains aloe extract, panthenol, and niacinamide so it feels very soothing. Keep in mind however that there are a few different plant extracts in this as well, so if you are super extra sensitive you might react poorly to them. But personally I’ve never found them to be an issue.

I was so excited to try a product with what seemed like no comedogenic ingredients, but I suspect all the extracts broke me out pretty badly. I’m talking deep, painful cysts. I think I saw a nice effect on skin brightness, but that’s the only upside unfortunately. This also left a chalky white residue at times.
