Also known as Avobenzone, this ingredient is a chemical sunscreen filter that provides protection in the UV-A range.
Avobenzone is globally approved and is the most commonly used UV-A filter in the world.
Studies have found that avobenzone becomes ineffective when exposed to UV light (it is not photostable; meaning that it breaks down in sunlight). Because of this, formulations that include avobenzone will usually contain stabilizers such as octocrylene.
However, some modern formulations (looking at you, EU!) are able to stabilize avobenzone by coating the molecules.
Avobenzone does not protect against the UV-B range, so it's important to check that the sunscreen you're using contains other UV filters that do!
The highest concentration of avobenzone permitted is 3% in the US, and 5% in the EU.

Skin: Oily-shiny
Cons: I was wrong. The finish is way too dewy to be matte. I've tested out my serums and they typically dry down to skin-finish.
Pros: The sunscreen is cool despite not really being anywhere cold. Kinda refreshing. Best I can attribute to this sunscreen is that it doesn't pill. However, as mentioned, I need to reduce the Show more
Works well as a sunscreen, I’m using the tinted variant (shade 02) and it is okay for me because i mostly spend my time inside but it gets slightly oily when i’m outside (Philippines’ climate 🫣). There’s better spfs out there.

This is my holy grail daily sunscreen. I am neurodivergent and have sensory issues and I cannot stand greasy sunscreen on my face unless I am out in the sun and water all day. This goes on smoothly and feels like a primer if you touch it, but I can’t feel it on my face after I put it on. No sunburn yet while using it and I am super pale and the sun hates me.
