Glycerin is already naturally found in your skin. It helps moisturize and protect your skin.

A study from 2016 found glycerin to be more effective as a humectant than AHAs and hyaluronic acid.

As a humectant, it helps the skin stay hydrated by pulling moisture to your skin. The low molecular weight of glycerin allows it to pull moisture into the deeper layers of your skin.

Hydrated skin improves your skin barrier; Your skin barrier helps protect against irritants and bacteria.

Glycerin has also been found to have antimicrobial and antiviral properties. Due to these properties, glycerin is often used in wound and burn treatments.

In cosmetics, glycerin is usually derived from plants such as soybean or palm. However, it can also be sourced from animals, such as tallow or animal fat.

This ingredient is organic, colorless, odorless, and non-toxic.

Glycerin is the name for this ingredient in American English. British English uses Glycerol/Glycerine.

I've used this product for so many years as it really does a good job with fading out post-acne marks. The texture and the smell are also incredible.
However, i've recently stopped using it because despite it not breaking me out, I didn't loved the slightly oily feeling that it left on my skin. I'm sure it's not a big deal for many people, but it might make you look a little bit greasy if you're very oily.

And sadly, I have to say the price has been increasing a lot lately like many other Caudalie products to the point I don't think they're worth it anymore (I mean, they're really good, but for some reason they're trying to get closer to a luxury line). In fact, I've just found out that The Ordinary "Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA" does a very similar job with fading hyperpigmentation, and also has Hyaluronic Acid that works in fine lines like magic, and it's 36€ less expensive. So if anyone's interesting, there's my recommendation.

Love this serum
I recently bought this serum and have been using it everyday for three weeks. I am really impressed with the results because it has helped reduce the hyperpigmentation of my acne scars which I’m really happy about since I’ve had them for over a year. Can’t wait to see how my face looks after finishing the bottle. Definetly recommend this to people that have acne scars.
