1
What it does: Skin Conditioning, Solvent
Community Rating: Loved

Water. It's the most common cosmetic ingredient of all. You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product.

So why is it so popular? Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation.

You'll also recognize water as that liquid we all need to stay alive. Talk about multi-purpose! If you see this, drink a glass of water. Stay hydrated!

2
What it does: Humectant, Skin Conditioning, Skin Protecting, Solvent
Community Rating: Loved

Glycerin is already naturally found in your skin. It helps moisturize and protect your skin.

A study from 2016 found glycerin to be more effective as a humectant than AHAs and hyaluronic acid.

As a humectant, it helps the skin stay hydrated by pulling moisture to your skin. The low molecular weight of glycerin allows it to pull moisture into the deeper layers of your skin.

Hydrated skin improves your skin barrier; Your skin barrier helps protect against irritants and bacteria.

Glycerin has also been found to have antimicrobial and antiviral properties. Due to these properties, glycerin is often used in wound and burn treatments.

In cosmetics, glycerin is usually derived from plants such as soybean or palm. However, it can also be sourced from animals, such as tallow or animal fat.

This ingredient is organic, colorless, odorless, and non-toxic.

Glycerin is the name for this ingredient in American English. British English uses Glycerol/Glycerine.

I have been using this product for a week and I am really happy.
After the use you can feel your skin soft and deeply cleansed, it has fragrance but being a wash off treatment I don't see it as a problem and it leaves with a really fresh smell. Most cleanser has around 6.7 ounces of product, but this has 13.5 ounces.
I would raccomend this for people on a budget with combination/oily skin

This is my holy grail so far. It helped me recover from a pretty nasty breakout back when I was putting most of my attention to college to the point of skincare negligence. I healed in about 1 month (with the help of other products as well)

I have really oily skin. For the first few uses it was amazing and helped clear up my skin, after about a month it began to strip away moisture and I noticed my skin feeling extremely dry after using. I kept using it and now it’s not as drying but I can still feel a slight lack of moisture but that’s fixed by a good moisturizer.

It has not got rid of my acne and I think it dries my skin out. That said it is pretty good, also great value for money because the bottle is big and you don't need to use a lot of the product at a time.
