As a clay, bentonite is often used to absorb excess oil and provide exfoliation. It has also been shown to have some antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies show bentonite was effective at calming dermatitis from poison ivy and in diaper dermatitis of infants. Bentonite has also been shown to act as a barrier against toxic compounds on your skin.

I have combination skin that's more on the dry side, but I've been getting a lot of breakouts lately, I imagine due to stress. So I tried this mask out. First of all, I read on other sites that you should only keep it on for 5 to 10 minutes or until you feel it tighten, contrary to what the label says. I washed mine off after 10 minutes. It definitely was hard to get off and made a mess, and my skin has a noticeable amount of redness. But I really can't argue with the results. My pores are still there of course, but most of them are so clean that they almost look like I had extractions done. I used a hydrating serum and a heavy duty night cream after washing it off and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed.
Note: Skinsort says this product isn't vegan or cruelty free, but it actually is.

The product is supposed to be calming and reduce redness, but unfortunately it did not work well on my skin. Even though I followed the instructions I could tell it made my skin slightly red, which was visible for days after using. It didn't cause any pain, but it certainly did not live up to the expectations. Won't buy again.
