Though Caprylyl Glycol is an alcohol derived from fatty acids, it is not the kind that can dry out skin.
This ingredient is also used as a preservative to extend the life of products. It has slight antimicrobial properties.

Not something my skin reacts to, but I have not noticed any benefits from using this.
Pro: it does not irritate my skin, does not trigger acne, and it is gentle and does calm my skin.
Contra: it stings near the eyes area and I wish it would hydrate more.

Comparing this to experiments super saturated, it comes in a larger bottle made of glass. But they are very similar! I like how Prequel shares the pH level.
This appears to be the only moisturizer I can use that doesn't break me out or inflame me. I am still a tiny bit dry but that is to be expected without any emollients and I am not going to rock the boat and add anything at this moment. I avoid ingredients in almost everything marketed toward "sensitive skin" including niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, so I was thrilled to find this one.
