Water. It's the most common cosmetic ingredient of all. You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product.

So why is it so popular? Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation.

You'll also recognize water as that liquid we all need to stay alive. Talk about multi-purpose! If you see this, drink a glass of water. Stay hydrated!

Glycerin is already naturally found in your skin. It helps moisturize and protect your skin.

A study from 2016 found glycerin to be more effective as a humectant than AHAs and hyaluronic acid.

As a humectant, it helps the skin stay hydrated by pulling moisture to your skin. The low molecular weight of glycerin allows it to pull moisture into the deeper layers of your skin.

Hydrated skin improves your skin barrier; Your skin barrier helps protect against irritants and bacteria.

Glycerin has also been found to have antimicrobial and antiviral properties. Due to these properties, glycerin is often used in wound and burn treatments.

In cosmetics, glycerin is usually derived from plants such as soybean or palm. However, it can also be sourced from animals, such as tallow or animal fat.

This ingredient is organic, colorless, odorless, and non-toxic.

Glycerin is the name for this ingredient in American English. British English uses Glycerol/Glycerine.

Caprylyl Glycol is a humectant, meaning it retains and preserves moisture. It is a common ingredient in many products, especially those designed to hydrate skin. The primary benefits are retaining moisture, skin softening, and promoting a healthy skin barrier.

Though Caprylyl Glycol is an alcohol derived from fatty acids, it is not the kind that can dry out skin.

This ingredient is also used as a preservative to extend the life of products.

Love It

i like how it foams up and it’s great for very sensitive skin. foaming cleansers do have the potential to be drying so if a new treatment is causing your skin to be dry or it’s just dry naturally, maybe instead try a hydrating cleanser that doesn’t foam or even the non-soap sensitive skin cleanser by cetaphil. i personally did not experience dryness or irritation from this cleanser.

Gentle And Did It’s Job

I used to have really bad eczema when I was little (it was only on my body not my face❗️) But it still made my skin sensitive. I used it and I did not have any reactions and my skin didn’t flare up. I wouldn’t say it’s wonderful, but it did its job in cleansing my face without any reactions, I think there may be better cleansers, but I haven’t really tried yet. It’s also a good starter cleanser for people who are starting their first skincare routine, plus it’s affordable, It’s 8.99 which is ...

Made All Of My Skincare Itchy

My derm recommended this because i have super sensitive skin. It was fine. No initial reaction. But i noticed all of my skincare that I used afterwards made me itchy. I ended up switching out most of my products trying to get rid of the itch, never realizing this was the culprit. After I stopped using it, i tried some of the old products again and there was no itching.

Works For Sensitive Oily Skin & Is Gentle On Skin

I bought this online without seeing that the packaging said "for normal to dry skin" so I was surprised when it worked for my oily skin. It cleanses very effectively but it doesn't strip the skin at all. I think that I was over-cleansing/over-stripping my skin before, so when I switched to this, my skin barrier became healthier because it wasn't being stressed anymore. Also, because of the non-foaming milky texture, it acts as a barrier between my fingers and my skin, so my skin doesn't exper...

I Love How Non Intrusive It Feels

It does its job very well, without even feeling like you're being stripped of all your oils. Just wish it would foam up a little more.
