Ingredients Explained
These ingredients are found in both products.

Salicylic Acid (also known as beta hydroxy acid or BHA) is one of the most well-known ingredients for treating skin that struggles with blackheads and acne. It helps to exfoliate both the skin's surface and pores, and also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent.
This multitasking property makes it a great ingredient for cleaning out pores, controlling oil production, and reducing inflammation.
Unlike AHAs which are water soluble, Salicylic Acid is oil soluble. This means that it's able to exfoliate the inside of pores and reduce blackheads.
Concentrations of 0.5-2% are recognized by the U.S. FDA as an over-the-counter topical acne product.
It can cause irritation and/or dryness if one's skin already has a compromised moisture barrier, so it's best to focus on repairing that before introducing a Salicylic Acid into your routine.
In general, Salicylic Acid is a great ingredient for oily acne-prone skin.
While salicylic acid does not increase sun-sensitivity, we still recommend wearing SPF.

I typically use Salicylic Acid made by Paula’s Choice (2% BHA Gel and 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliants). It’s interesting, that even though I already have two other Sal Acid products in my regimen, I believe there is a place for this one as well.
I use the 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant at night when I am having breakouts and need to leave a sort of gentle Sal Acid layer on overnight, to purge my skin.

This is a new holy grail product for me. I suffer with really bad hormonal acne that randomly appears, and this product completely cleared it up in a little over a week. definitely recommend

I actually love this exfoliating serum for my very oily skin! I use it 3 times a week and only use two baby drops of it that I apply mostly on my T zone. The mornings after I use it, my skin feels lighter and purified. Try not to mix this serum with retinoids or vitamin C, although I mixed it with only derivatives (was told it’d be ok by employees), my skin felt a bit sensitive when I did.
This products exfoliates and reduces my fungal acne overnight. It's affordable too
