Ingredients Explained
These ingredients are found in both products.
Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is an emollient, solvent, and texture enhancer. It is considered a skin-softener by helping the skin prevent moisture loss.
Within a product, Caprylic Triglyceride can thicken the product and make spreadability easier by dissolving clumping compounds. An added benefit of Caprylic Triglyceride is its antioxidant properties.
Caprylic Triglyceride is made by combining glycerin with coconut oil, forming a clear liquid. Caprylic Triglyceride has not been found to be toxic for human use in concentrations under 50%.
While there is an assumption Caprylic Triglyceride can clog pores due to it being derived from coconut oil, there is no research supporting this.
Learn more about Caprylic/Capric TriglyceridePhenoxyethanol is a preservative that has germicide, antimicrobial, and aromatic properties. Studies show that phenoxyethanol can prevent microbial growth. By itself, it has a scent that is similar to that of a rose.
It's often used in formulations along with Caprylyl Glycol to preserve the shelf life of products.

I feel like this cleansing oil is perfect for those with dryer skin. However, for my sensitive, acne prone skin that leans more towards combination/oily, this oil made me break out. It’s a very thick formula that’s hard to wash off, even with a second cleanser. Because of this, I find myself rubbing my face and eyes a lot harder, and scrubbing with a lot more effort than usual. It’s also made mostly out of olive oil, which tends to break me out, and lead to acne around my jawline. If you like thicker cleansing oils that leave a bit of a moisturizing film, this is good for you. However, if you’re prone to breakouts and prefer a lighter formula, I would skip this one unless you have no other choice.

Non-comedogenic & Shrinks Pores
This is one of the only oil cleansers that doesn't clog my pores. It's really light, feels nice to use, and emulsifies really easily. It cleans pores very well and I've noticed a decrease in pore size while using it, and clearer skin in general. (Note: I can't speak to how well it removes makeup because I'm not really a makeup wearer, but it definitely removes sunscreen well.)
