Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Emollient, Skin Protecting, Solvent

Paraffinum Liquidum is also known as liquid paraffin. It is a type of highly refined mineral oil.

Like other oils, Paraffinum Liquidum has emollient properties. Emollients help soothe and soften the skin. By creating a barrier to trap moisture within, emollients help keep your skin hydrated.

Paraffinum Liquidum does not irritate the skin and is non-comedogenic.

Emulsion Stabilising

Cera Microcristallina isn't fungal acne safe.

Perfuming, Skin Conditioning

Paraffin is a solid created from petroleum. The term 'paraffin' can also refer to either petroleum jelly or mineral oil.

It has natural occlusive properties which can worsen oily skin. Due to its petrolatum base, this ingredient is not fungal-acne safe.

BHT
Antioxidant, Masking

BHT is a synthetic antioxidant and preservative.

As an antioxidant, it helps your body fight off free-radicals. Free-radicals are molecules that may damage your skin cells.

As a preservative, it is used to stabilize products and prevent them from degrading. Specifically, BHT prevents degradation from oxidation.

The concerns related to BHT come from oral studies; this ingredient is currently allowed for use by both the FDA and EU.

However, it was recently restricted for use in the UK as of April 2024.

I actually don’t find this product irritating at all for my lips. The only con would be that the hydration doesn’t last that long.

The best ever. Used to use cerave healing ointment or aquaphor but my lips needed something extra. I had been using lip sleeping masks but suspected they were contributing to my chin breakouts. I have very sensitive dry acne prone skin. It seemed everything made for the lips either had a problematic ingredient or wasn’t long lasting enough. I researched and found this product. It’s amazing.
