Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Emollient
Disliked

Petrolatum is more commonly known as petroleum jelly. It is created by mixing waxes and mineral oils.

This ingredient is effective at reducing water loss by 99%. This is because it is an occlusive. Occlusives create a hydrophobic barrier on the skin to prevent evaporation. This property makes it great for hydrating dry skin.

Pro tip: Use occlusives, such as this ingredient, on damp skin for the best results.

The quality or origin of petrolatum is only known when disclosed by the brand. Most cosmetic petrolatum has gone through several purification stages.

Another benefit of occlusives is it protects your skin against infection or allergies.

Petrolatum may not be safe for fungal-acne. Studies show mineral oil / petroleum leads to the growth of M. Furfur, a type of yeast.

It’s the only lip product that I use and recommend to other people for dry lips and just to keep healthy looking lips. I’ve been using this stuff for years and it really makes a difference to lip hydration and slightly with color.

Absolutely Love!
I've been using this since I was around 16. It's unlike any other lip moisturizers out there! It doesn't feel like a film that just sits on top of your lips where the dry patches aren't softened, NOPE! This softens your lips INSTANTLY. So amazing for all seasons, especially winter or if you're living in a dry climate, like me!

I'll be adding a simple description for those that don't like reading paragraphs:
- Instantly softens your lips and yes, those dry patches on it too!
- Deeply hydrates your lips and doesn't go away so easily like other lip moisturizers. (Stays for an hour or more for me and when it's gone, my lips still feel moisturized.)
- Since this is Vaseline, it has its standard nice and soft jelly texture.
- Perfect for all seasons, especially if you live in a dry climate and has winter arriving.
- Feels light!
- This has a flowery/rose scent (yes, you can smell it under your nose) but I don't mind that type of thing. Is the fragrance strong? Mid-level.
+ (if you're looking for something that doesn't have fragrance, Vaseline's ENTIRE lip therapy line has something for you, especially the "Original Vaseline Lip Therapy" that has the same packaging) And don't worry, the formula/results in which it softens your lips and hydrates DOES NOT change with whichever you choose from it)
- Tints your lips a natural pink and generally enhances your natural lip color. Amazing for all skin tones in my opinion.
+ (I use this for my everyday natural makeup look)

The only lip moisturizers I love is Vaseline's lip therapy and Laneige lip mask. Both do amazing jobs that ACTUALLY moisturizes and gives you a pleasant experience throughout.
