Ingredients Explained
These ingredients are found in both products.
Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.
Arachis Hypogaea Oil is the INCI name for peanut oil.
It's an emollient that contains oleic acid (~57%), linoleic acid (~26%), and small amounts of palmitic, stearic, arachidic, vitamin E, and other types of acids.
In skincare, it mostly softens, smooths, and slows water loss.
For those with a peanut allergy: Cosmetic-grade peanut oil is refined to strip out the proteins that trigger peanut allergies. But always be sure to patch test if you're unsure or have a severe allergy.
Clinical studies have repeatedly found that highly refined peanut oil doesn't cause reactions in the vast majority of peanut-allergic people.
Just know: unrefined or cold pressed version can still contain the allergenic protein.
We recommend reaching out to the brand about their source of peanut oil if you have questions.
