Whether you’re putting together a simple everyday routine or experimenting with new makeup trends, finding the right products can feel overwhelming with so many options available. The makeup categories on SkinSort are designed to help make browsing easier, more organized, and more personalized to your preferences.

Here are the different makeup categories on SkinSort:

Face Makeup

  1. Color Correctors - These are products designed to help neutralize discoloration or uneven skin tone before applying foundation or concealer. This includes green correctors for redness, peach/orange correctors for dark circles, and lavender correctors for dullness.
  2. BB, CC & Tinted Moisturizers - Lightweight complexion products that usually provide a mix of coverage and skincare benefits. BB creams, CC creams, skin tints, and tinted moisturizers all fall into this category.
  3. Foundations - These are mainly used to even out skin tone and create a base for makeup.
  4. Concealers - Products used to provide extra coverage for areas like dark circles, blemishes, redness, or discoloration.
  5. Face Primers - Products applied before makeup to help improve makeup application or wear. This includes pore-blurring, hydrating, mattifying, illuminating, and gripping primers.
  6. Setting Sprays & Powders - Products used to help set makeup and improve wear throughout the day.
  7. Highlighters - These are designed to add glow or radiance to the skin.
  8. Contours - Products used to add definition or create shadows on the face.
  9. Blushes - These are used to add color to the cheeks.
  10. Bronzers - Products designed to add warmth or a sun-kissed look to the skin.
  11. Other Face Makeup - Face makeup products that don’t clearly fit into the categories above.

Eye Makeup

  1. Eyeshadows - Products used to add color, depth, or shimmer to the eyelids.
  2. Mascaras - Products designed to enhance the eyelashes by adding length, volume, curl, or definition.
  3. Eyeliners - Products used to define the eyes.
  4. Eye Primers - Products applied before eyeshadow to help improve color payoff or wear time.
  5. Eyebrows - Products designed for shaping, defining, filling, or setting brows such as brow pencils, pomades, powders, pens, gels, and waxes.
  6. Other Eye Makeup - Eye makeup products that don’t clearly fit into the categories above.
  7. Lash & Brow Serum - Products formulated to help condition or support the appearance of lashes and brows over time.
  8. False Eyelashes - Strip lashes, individual lashes, lash clusters, and similar lash enhancement products.

Lip Makeup

  1. Lip Glosses - Products designed to add shine or a glossy finish to the lips.
  2. Lip Plumpers - Products formulated to create a fuller-looking lip appearance, usually with temporary plumping effects.
  3. Lip Stains - Lightweight lip products designed to leave behind long-lasting color or tint on the lips.
  4. Lip Oils - Lip products with an oil-based texture that provide shine and hydration, often with sheer color.
  5. Lip Liners - Products used to define or outline the lips before or after lipstick application.
  6. Lipsticks - Pigmented lip products available in different finishes like matte, satin, cream, glossy, or velvet.
  7. Other Lip Makeup - Lip products that don’t clearly fit into the categories above.

Makeup Tools

  1. Makeup Applicators - Tools used to apply or blend makeup products, including makeup sponges, powder puffs, brushes, applicator pads, and similar tools.

SkinSort currently supports only one category per product. Products are categorized based on their primary purpose, how they are typically used, and how the brand categorizes the product.

How to Filter by Category

To view products from a specific category:
1. Click or tap the Filter button beside the search bar.
2. Scroll down to Category.
3. Select your desired product category.
4. Click or tap Search.
