How to Use SkinSort Search Filters

Finding the right skincare product for your skin can be overwhelming. SkinSort’s search filters make it easier to discover products that match your skin’s needs, goals, and preferences with just a few clicks.

SkinSort Filters:
Match Score – Find products with a specific Match Score, including Good or better, Great or better, or Excellent.

Skin Goals – Find products that target specific concerns and goals, such as reducing acne, fading dark spots, smoothing texture, and more.

With Ingredient – Find products that contain specific ingredients.

Without Ingredient – Exclude products containing ingredients or ingredient groups you want to avoid, such as fragrance, alcohols, parabens, or oils. You can also exclude specific ingredients.

Lifestyle – Find products based on lifestyle preferences, including vegan, cruelty-free, or reef-safe options.

Price Range – Set a minimum and maximum price to find products within your budget.

Retailer – See products available from specific retailers.

Brand Country – Browse products based on the country associated with the brand.

SPF Rating – Find sunscreens based on their SPF rating.

UV Filter Type – Find sunscreens based on the type of UV filters they contain.

Ingredient Count – Filter products based on the number of ingredients in their formulation.

Discontinued Products – Choose whether to include discontinued products in your search results.

Strict Filters
Strict Filters help you automatically hide products that conflict with your saved preferences.

When Strict Filters are turned on, products containing your avoided ingredients, products that don't match your saved preferences, and other conflicting products are hidden entirely from your search results.

You can turn Strict Filters on or off from the search filter page by selecting Manage Strict Filters.

You can also manage this setting from your Skin Profile by going to Avoided Ingredients → Strict Filters.

Sorting
Once you've applied your filters, you can sort your results to find products that are most relevant to you.

• Best Match – Shows products that best match your preferences. This option is exclusive to Premium users.
• Most Popular – Sorts products based on popularity.
• Top Rated – Sorts products based on user ratings.
• Newest – Shows the newest products added to SkinSort.

How to Use Filters
On the SkinSort Website

1. On the home page, type a product or category into the search bar.
2. Click the filter button and apply your chosen options.
3. Alternatively, click Explore in the nav bar. Choose a product category, then click the filter button on the left side.
4. Apply your preferred filters and browse the results.

On the SkinSort App

1. On the home page, tap Explore on the tab bar.
2. Tap Filters.
3. Select your preferred filters.
4. Tap Show Products to view your results.

You can combine multiple filters to narrow your results and find products that better match your needs. To start a new search, simply clear your filters and explore again.
