How to build a routine

Skincare can feel overwhelming, especially with so many products to choose from. Creating a routine can help you stay consistent, keep track of the products you use, and build habits that work for your needs.

With SkinSort, you can easily create and customize routines for your skincare, haircare, body care, and makeup products.

Follow the steps below to get started:

On the SkinSort Website

1. Click Routine in the nav bar. Alternatively, click Tools, then select Routine Creator.
2. Click Add product, then search for the product you want to add. You can also select a product from your Shelves.
3. Choose when you use the product: morning, evening, or both.
4. Choose how often you use the product: Every day, Every other day, On specific days, As needed, or Custom. Custom to set a specific interval, such as every few days or weeks. Interchangeably if you switch between similar products, such as two cleansers, and use whichever one you choose on a given day. Alternating if you intentionally take turns between products or routine steps, such as using a retinoid one night and taking a rest night the next.
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 until you have added all the products in your routine.
6. To customize your routine, click Settings in the left panel.
7. Enter a routine name, choose whether to set it as your main routine, and decide whether to add it to your diary entry.
8. You can also add a description, select a routine type (skincare, haircare, body care, or makeup), and set your location and climate.
9. Once you are happy with your routine, click Save.

On the SkinSort App

1. Tap Routine in the tab bar.
2. Tap the + button in the top-right corner, then search for the product you want to add. You can also select a product from your Shelves.

6. To customize your routine, tap the ... button in the top-right corner, then select Routine Settings.
7. Update your routine's name and description, choose its routine type, and set your location and climate. You can also set it as your main routine and choose whether to include it in your diary entry.

The Today Tab

When you open the SkinSort app, you'll land on the Today tab. Here, you can see the products scheduled for your routine that day, based on the usage frequency you've set for each product.

Products that aren't scheduled for the day appear at the bottom of the tab, so you can easily see which products are part of your routine but aren't due to be used today.

With your routine set up, you're all ready to go! You can revisit and update it anytime to reflect your habits, preferences, and changing skincare needs.
