How to customize your SkinSort account

Last updated 4 months ago

Customizing your SkinSort account helps you establish your identity on the platform and allows SkinSort to deliver more accurate product and routine recommendations. A complete profile also makes it easier to interact with the SkinSort community.

There are two main areas you can customize: your account details and your skin profile.

To customize your account, you’ll first need to access Settings.
On the website: Click your profile icon in the top right corner, then select Settings.
On the app: Tap You on the tab bar, then tap the gear icon on the upper right corner.

Customizing your account details
Once you’re in Settings:
1. Under Account, select Profile.
2. Here, you can customize the following:

  • First Name and Last Name
  • Username
  • Profile photo
  • Bio or short description
  • Location
  • Birthdate

We recommend choosing a unique username that best represents you. Adding a short bio also helps other users get to know you better and makes your profile more engaging.

Customizing Your Skin Profile
Your skin profile helps SkinSort tailor recommendations specifically to your needs. To update your skin profile:
1. In Settings, select Skin Profile.
2. Here, you can set:

  • Skin Type - Choose from normal, dry, combination, oily, or sensitive. Be sure to click Save changes after selecting.
  • Skin Concerns - Select concerns such as acne, dryness, fine lines, texture, and more. There is no limit to how many concerns you can choose. Remember to click Save changes once done.
  • Lifestyle Preferences - Under Products, you can select vegan, cruelty-free, and reef-safe. SkinSort will consider these preferences when recommending products.
  • Ingredient Preferences - Choose from our pre-built avoided ingredients list or add your own liked or avoided ingredients. Here’s the full article on how to set your ingredient preferences.

Skin needs and preferences can change over time. We recommend reviewing and updating your account regularly to ensure your recommendations stay aligned with your current skin goals.
