How to customize your SkinSort account

Customizing your SkinSort account helps you personalize your profile and allows SkinSort to provide more relevant product and routine recommendations. A complete profile also makes it easier to interact with the SkinSort community.

There are two main areas you can customize: your account details and your skin profile.

Account Details

To customize your account details, you’ll first need to access Settings.

On the website: Click your profile icon in the top right corner, then select Settings.
On the app: Tap your profile icon in the top left from the Home or Community page, then tap the gear icon.

Once you’re in Settings:

1. Select Profile. Here, you can customize the following: First Name and Last Name, Profile photo, Bio or short description (adding a short bio helps other users get to know you better and makes your profile more engaging), Location, Birthdate, Social Media (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Twitter/X)
2. Select Account if you’d like to update the following: Username, Sign-In Details (if you’re logged in via email).

Customizing Your Skin Profile

Your skin profile helps SkinSort tailor recommendations specifically to your needs.

To update your skin profile:
Go to Skin Profile:

• On the website: Click your profile icon, then click Skin Profile.
• On the app: Tap your profile icon, then tap Skin Profile.

Here, you can set:

• Skin Type & Sensitivity - Choose from normal, dry, combination, or oily. You can also select your skin’s sensitivity based on how often new products cause stinging, redness, or itching: not sensitive, slightly sensitive, sensitive, or very sensitive. Be sure to click Save changes after making your selections.
• Skin Concerns - Select concerns such as acne, dryness, fine lines, texture, and more. You can also select skin conditions such as eczema, fungal acne, psoriasis, rosacea, and more. Remember to click Save changes once you’re done.
• Lifestyle Preferences - Under Products, you can select vegan, cruelty-free, and reef-safe. SkinSort will consider these preferences when recommending products.
• Avoided Ingredients - Select the ingredients and formulations you prefer to avoid in your skincare products. You can choose from the pre-built avoided list or search for specific ingredients.
• Watched Ingredients - Search for ingredients you’d like to watch. Watched Ingredients are highlighted in ingredient lists but don’t affect your match scores.
• Liked Ingredients - Search for ingredients you like. Products with these ingredients will have higher match scores.

Skin needs and preferences can change over time. We recommend reviewing and updating your account regularly to ensure your recommendations stay aligned with your current skin goals.
