Squalane is an emollient that helps the skin hold onto moisture. It's an oily liquid that occurs naturally in certain types of fish and plant oils.

Because squalane boosts hydration in the skin, it also comes with plenty of benefits: it is an antioxidant and can help fight free radicals and skin damage. Squalane is also found to have a detoxifying effect when applied.

Squalane comes from squalene, which occurs naturally within the sebum of our skin. It is one of the oils our skin produces to keep itself hydrated. Squalane is the hydrogenated version of squalene and has a longer shelf life.

Research shows that squalane is non-irritating (even at 100% concentration).

In general, it's a fantastic ingredient. It does a great job at hydrating the skin, and it's suitable for those with sensitive skin.

The source of squalane may impact malassezia / fungal acne. This is because olive oil derived squalane can contain impurities such as fatty acids and plant waxes. Sugarcane derived squalane is recommended for anyone with malassezia concerns.

Is squalane vegan? This depends on the source. Squalane can be derived from both plants and animals. Most squalane used in skincare comes from plants.

Please note: the source of squalane is only known if disclosed by the brand. We recommend reaching out to the brand if you have any questions about their squalane.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is an emollient, solvent, and texture enhancer. It is considered a skin-softener by helping the skin prevent moisture loss.

Within a product, Caprylic Triglyceride can thicken the product and make spreadability easier by dissolving clumping compounds. An added benefit of Caprylic Triglyceride is its antioxidant properties.

Caprylic Triglyceride is made by combining glycerin with coconut oil, forming a clear liquid. Caprylic Triglyceride has not been found to be toxic for human use in concentrations under 50%.

While there is an assumption Caprylic Triglyceride can clog pores due to it being derived from coconut oil, there is no research supporting this.

Lecithin is a term for a group of substances found in plants, animals, and humans. They are made up of mixture of fatty acids. These fatty acids usually are a mixture of phosphoric acid's choline ester connected to stearic, oleic, and palmitic acids. Most lecithins are created from plant ingredients scuh as sunflower.

Lecithin is an emollient. Emollients help soften the skin and creates a barrier to keep moisture in.

As an emulsifier, it also helps prevent water and oil ingredients from separating. Lecithin can help ingredients be better absorbed by the skin. The phospholipids in Lecithin can produce liposomes. Liposomes help other ingredients get through the skin barrier.

Tocopherol (also known as Vitamin E) is a common antioxidant used to help protect the skin from free-radicals and strengthen the skin barrier. It's also fat soluble - this means our skin is great at absorbing it.

Vitamin E also helps keep your natural skin lipids healthy. Your lipid skin barrier naturally consists of lipids, ceramides, and fatty acids. Vitamin E offers extra protection for your skin’s lipid barrier, keeping your skin healthy and nourished.

Another benefit is a bit of UV protection. Vitamin E helps reduce the damage caused by UVB rays. (It should not replace your sunscreen). Combining it with Vitamin C can decrease sunburned cells and hyperpigmentation after UV exposure.

You might have noticed Vitamin E + C often paired together. This is because it is great at stabilizing Vitamin C. Using the two together helps increase the effectiveness of both ingredients.

There are often claims that Vitamin E can reduce/prevent scarring, but these claims haven't been confirmed by scientific research.

We recommend cleaning your skin only when necessary so as not to wash away the skin's own beneficial substances that help keep the skin soft and moisturized. How often you need to cleanse is individual and will vary depending on the specific area of the body and how exposed the area has been.

Face: Removes makeup such as waterproof mascara or foundation. Apply 1-2 pumps of cleansing oil to a cotton pad or apply directly to the face and massage gently. Rinse with water and cleanse with Mineral Cleanser or Sensitive Cleanser to remove oil residue if desired.

Underarms: Gently cleanse the underarm area where the skin has an oily nature due to sweat glands that release more oil when active which can allow bacteria and other microorganisms to thrive. Oil dissolves oil well and effectively reduces odor. Apply 1 pump of cleaning oil to the palm of your hand. Gently massage into the moistened armpit, rinse off with water. Repeat under the other armpit.

Hands: Clean your hands gently and effectively without drying them out. Our hands are more vulnerable to pathogenic (bad) bacteria and viruses and therefore it is important to wash your hands more often. Because of this, it is easy to get dry hands. Moisten your hands, apply 1 pump in the palm of your hand. Massage gently and rinse off with water.

Intimate area: The intimate area is a very sensitive area for both men and women. We recommend to only clean this area if you really need to and otherwise just rinse with water. Be careful to wash only the outer parts. If necessary, apply cleansing oil to your hand, massage gently and rinse with water.

Feet: Softens, moisturizes and gently cleanses the often dry and scaly skin of the feet. Our feet are often trapped in shoes, they become damp and hot and bacteria and other micro-organisms can thrive, creating foot sweat and odor. Wet your feet, apply 1 pump in the palm of your hand. Massage feet gently and rinse off with water.

Store at room temperature.

Lasts 18 months from production date in unopened packaging and 12 months after opening.
