Ingredients Explained

These ingredients are found in both products.

Ingredients higher up in an ingredient list are typically present in a larger amount.

Hydrocolloid is technically not an INCI ingredient. It is a type of material used to dress uninfected wounds.

Hydrocolloid is coated with a mix of gelatin, pectin, xanthan gum, carrageenan, and other biopolymers.

Hydrocolloid patches made for treating pimples often have other ingredients, such as tea tree oil, salicylic acid, niacinamide, glycolic acid, and more. Unfortunately, unless a company discloses this information, we won't have a way to know what other ingredients are present.

When hydrocolloid is applied to a wound, the polysaccharides and polymers absorb water to form a gel. These moist conditions help promote wound healing without breaking down cell tissue.

A study from 2021 found Hydrocolloid may aid in scar healing.

This patch never disappoints. I wear it overnight and the pimple is drained by the morning. Definitely worth the price!

They are the best pimple patches ever! They stick very well to the skin, and get out the gunk out of the pimples really well!

For smaller pimples, standard pimple patches usually do the trick for me. However, during my last prolonged hormonal acne outbreak under the chin, I needed something more potent. Containing 1% salicylic acid, they are notably more effective. The only downside is that these patches don't adhere as strongly as others, so it's best to apply them directly after cleansing, without any prior skincare Show more

First, the negative - I wish they were just a little smaller, that they had two sizes, as these are on the big side for the most common places I still get pimples, like my nose. They could be a smidge stickier too. This are minor complaints because these little stars GET IT DONE. They shrink down pimples faster than any other patches I've tried. The blue box they came in is cute and stores them Show more
