Love this powder exfoliant
There is something so satisfying about using a finely milled powder cleanser that include enzymes and other gentle but effective ingredients like rice bran, flax and celery seed extracts. A tiny bit of powder mixed with a small amount of water magically transforms into a rich creamy lather that cleans and exfoliates skin leaving it looking radiant. I use this just once per week and this is enough to keep my sensitive skin feeling soft and fresh. In fact, this is the only type of exfoliant I can use on my face that doesn’t irritate it. It's very similar to Tatcha's Rice Powder only at a fraction of the cost.

This may seem like a minor thing but I really like that Indeed Labs includes a tiny flap/stopper to cover the dispensing hole in this essence, keeping air out of the product as well as added protection from spills/seeping. The liquid has a luxurious feel to it, very thin yet silky, and it's fragrance free! I prefer pouring a few drops in the palm of my hand and applying directly to my face vs using a cotton round which soaks up too much product. At first I wasn’t sure I’d like it, seemed like an unnecessary step in my skin care routine, which I like to keep fairly simple. However, this has quickly become a must-have for me both in the morning and evening, providing much needed hydration before applying my other skincare products.

Best non-foaming cleanser
This cleansing milk dispenses out as a thick creamy lotion, is cruelty free and is fragrance free but does have a mild fruity scent that comes naturally from the ingredients. There are oils in this but they are not problematic for my skin which is dry, sensitive and prone to dehydration. Using a non-foaming cream cleanser isn’t for everyone but this one is so thick and luxurious, it’s an almost spa-like sensorial experience and my preference for AM cleansing.

The texture is sort of like a hybrid serum/lotion that sinks into my skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. Do not let this product fool you, it is about as strong as you can get OTC and should be used with caution. I have been using retinol products for years (non-prescription strength) and this is by and far my favourite, the one I continue to use regularly.

Very gentle, lightly foaming cleanser, love the short squeezable bottle with flip top cap, perfect for keeping in the shower. Effective but not stripping on the skin like some other SA cleansers I’ve tried. Free from pore clogging ingredients, this has become one of my all time favorite cleansers. For background, I have dry skin that is also prone to dehydration and is sensitive with a fair amount of surface redness on it so I only use this once per week. It’s not often I can use a foaming cleanser without it drying my skin and leaving it tight and itchy but this one is wonderful.

Even better than the essence
This is like no other moisturizer I’ve ever tried. It is slimy and gooey yet feels like I’m rubbing silky water on my face. It absorbs in beautifully, not feeling sticky or tacky at all. I use this as my nighttime moisturizer so the copper peptides do not interfere with vitamin C serum used in the morning. Upon waking my skin feels soft, supple, replenished. It’s too bad they don’t package this in an airless pump or better yet, a squeeze tube, as I don’t really like the stringy slimy experience of having it stretch from the jar to your fingers and drip onto everything in between in the process but… the benefits of using it far outweighs this minor inconvenience for me.

Both absorb completely and do not leave my skin looking dewy at all, on the contrary it looks “normal” yet feels good, not tight or dry.

While I no longer use this it is a great toner for gentle exfoliation. It doesn't irritate my super sensitive dry skin and it kept it blemish free. I like that it is fragrance free as well.

It looks, smells, and feels like you are spreading Elmer’s glue all over your face although it does seem to work as a gentle cleanser. Packaging is good, simplicity of ingredients is nice, as is the price. I've not repurchased it...

Gentle foaming action, don't get it on your lips or it will seep into your mouth and it tastes AWFUL! Can be drying if used daily. For the $$$ I would rather use something else that is effective yet gentle on...

Ouch!
This is supposed to be great for gentle cleansing of the skin however it stings/burns on my dry sensitive skin. I have much better luck from other non-foaming cleansers that are also cruelty-free which CeraVe isn't.
