Maleated soybean oil is a modified soybean oil. In this case, the unsaturated parts of the soybean oil has been converted to cyclic dicarboxylic acid using maleic acid.
Though studies show maleated soybean oil can help with skin softening, some studies found this ingredient to be irritating on the skin.
