Woman in early 30s. Adult acne and sensitivity. Passionate about skincare.
Skin type: sensitive/combination/reactive. Note that I’m using prescription acne medication which increases sensitivity.
Had previously treated acne successfully with prescription adapalene/benzoyl peroxide and azeleic acid, tried switching abruptly 2024 to tretinoin and a new spf = horrible acne flare. 🤦♀️ Back to basics to heal acne again. Flare caused open and closed comedones, sporadic pustules, nodules and cysts.
Update 2025:
I managed to heal all active lesions and most comedones. Left with scarring and PIH and closed comedones.
Goals:
1) Prevent new lesions
2) Find an SPF that doesn’t break me out, doesn’t burn eyes, pill or make my skin look oily nor drying. And reasonably priced. 🥲
3) Even skintone
