Been dealing with painful acne since my teens, and only in the past few years have I gotten it really under control. Not only is my acne mostly gone, but I've also been able to improve my PIH/PIE and my dry rough skin. Now I'm a skincare addict, however I've given myself a $30 limit for each product (there are a few exceptions as occasionally I buy something on sale for $30 or less when it's normally more). So feel free to explore my routine and liked products for affordable recommendations.
AND SUNSCREEN IS A MUST! I'm very fair and experience sun allergies when outside without protection for very long. The bumps are itchy and can be red and painful. They can take about two weeks to go away completely so I try to be very diligent about sun protection.

Commonly disliked ingredients that DO NOT bother my skin:
โ€ข Fragrance (I don't go overboard and will still avoid it where I can)
โ€ข Astringents such as alcohol, witch hazel, or birch sap (when formulated into products)
โ€ข Citrus extracts (I do try to avoid citrus oils however)
โ€ข Tea tree oil (if formulated into a product it's fine, but I still try to avoid other essential oils)

Commonly liked ingredients that DO bother my skin:
โ€ข Vitamin C (especially in higher percentages, it often stings)
โ€ข Glycolic acid (especially in higher percentages, often makes me red. I prefer PHAs or BHAs with less than 0.5% strength)

How I personally rate and review products:
โญ๏ธ Terrible! Who was this product even meant for? I cannot recommend that anybody use it.
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Absolutely did not work for me at all, but it might for some people. Still, I canโ€™t say I recommend the product. I believe there's a better alternative out there.
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Itโ€™s not awful and didn't do anything terrible to my skin, but I personally did not enjoy using the product or see many results. Although, I imagine it could work well for some people.
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Product works, but thereโ€™s just something about it I wish was better or different.
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Amazing! Product works very well and is enjoyable to use. I highly recommend!

Best cleanser for dehydrated skin!
With 50% glycerin, this is the best cleanser Iโ€™ve found for dehydrated skin. Itโ€™s smooth, gentle, and fragrance free. The texture is a little slimy which is fun but it still foams up very nicely. Plus, this comes in a huge 13.5 oz bottle, so if you are only using this for your face then itโ€™s gonna last you a long time. However, personally Iโ€™ve found I actually prefer this as a body wash. Thatโ€™s not to say that I donโ€™t like this cleanser for my face, itโ€™s just that the skin on my face suffers more from dryness than dehydration so I prefer a cleanser that delivers moisture as well as hydration to the skin. What I mean by that is that this cleanser contains glycerin which is a great hydrating ingredient that delivers water to the skin (ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid, etc, are hydrating), but it doesnโ€™t really moisturize my skin by locking in water to help prevent transepidermal water loss (ingredients like petroleum jelly, shea butter, and some types of oils like jojoba oil, argan oil, etc, are moisturizing). Having said that, if youโ€™re dealing with dehydrated skin than this is a cleanser that I think you must check out, but if itโ€™s dryness you are dealing with I suggest looking for a cleanser that is labeled as creamy or milky and isnโ€™t oil free (my moisturizing cleanser recommendations would be the Hero Cosmetics Gentle Milky Cleanser or the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser). For dehydrated skin, this is easily a five star product so I hope you give it a try if it sounds like something youโ€™d enjoy. This product is definitely gonna remain a staple in my body routine.
