I hate the new Likes/Dislikes format and how we can no longer edit notes for them, so I'm adding them all here. To be specific, this is a list of products that simply do not work for me and were the source of very specific skin issues, but they could work for others with less skin sensitivities.
Soothing Oat and Peptide Cleanser Murad
I wanted to love this, as it was a cream cleanser, and I heard a lot of good things about Murad. It's not cost effective for what it does and eventually triggered my eczema. It also stung my eyes and kept them irritated.
Correct & Protect Serum Broad Spectrum SPF 45 PA++++ Murad
I always had a sneaking suspicion that this was causing issues. This gradually sensitized my skin over time and one day caused a major eczema flareup. There's so many actives in this meant to act as antioxidants, but it's just too much.
Age Reverse Night Lift Antiaging Face Cream Exuviance
Again, too many actives. Glycolic acid, specifically, is a little too strong to use every night for my skintone & age. Loved what it did to my smile lines though, but that could have just been due to sensitized puffiness.
Age Reverse BioActiv Wash Foaming PHA Facial Cleanser Exuviance
Went through a couple bottles of this and thought it was my fave cleanser, but my skin prefers hydrating (not exfoliating), daily cleansers. This had some rough, unnecessary ingredients I was overlooking and don't miss.
Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++ Round Lab
Attempt #1 at trying a chemical sunscreen and it was a complete disaster. This caused severe eczema flareups when exposed to the sun.
Lip Screen SPF 40 Supergoop!
Again, my skin hates chemical sunscreens. If you can handle them, this is a great sunscreen lip gloss. It does have a sunscreen taste, however.
Age Reverse Eye Contour Exuviance
I used this for several months, but I experienced frequent burns under my eye from all the actives.
Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer Laneige
The ingredients look so promising and a step up from the kombucha tea essence, but I did not like the texture of this at all and it stung my eyes.
Protini Polypeptide Cream Drunk Elephant
This caused an insane rash all over my face that only relieved when I stopped using it. I bought this back when I was looking for Everything moisturizers and this failure helped me switch to Cerave. I'm done with this crazy expensive brand.
Atlantic Kelp and Microalgae Anti-Fatigue Toning Body Oil REN Clean Skincare
Caused bumps on my butt and thighs after one use. I haven't looked too deeply into why this didn't work because I'm happy with my current body oil.
Skincare Oil Bio-Oil
Created the largest pustules on my butt which caused dark mark scarring that I'm still dealing with a decade later. My mom loves this stuff, but I will never touch it again.
Organic Lip Balm EOS
IYKYK. Just absolutely useless and awful.
Daily Mild Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++ Village 11 Factory
Just an overall gross and greasy texture. This was the first recommended sunscreen I saw when I was still clueless about effective skincare. I didn't notice any chemical sunscreen sensitivities because I didn't use it for very long.
Vegan Kombucha Tea Gel Cream Dr.Ceuracle
I'm straight up allergic to something in this. Usually patch tests yield no immediate results for me, but this was causing my hands to become red and itchy after I rubbed in excess product.
Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG The Ordinary
I tried making this work so many times. It does nothing at best or makes my dark circles more pronounced at worst.
Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) Sk-II
I think I've tried to use this 4 different times and each time it initially transforms my skin, but I always eventually get these weird, persistent bumps on my forehead that form in straight, vertical lines. Not cost effective regardless.
C-Firma Fresh Day Serum Drunk Elephant
Burned the hell out of my face. L-ascorbic acid is not a good fit for me.
Probiotics Youth Repair Cream Neogen
This used to be a certified HG, but I eventually traced my chronic eczema triggers to this product. It moisturized and sealed like a dream, but something in this 100+ ingredients list was causing acne and irritation. Absolutely heartbroken.
Ceramidin Eye Cream with Niacinamide Dr. Jart+
I was absolutely SHOOK when I realized this was linked to my chronic eye AND respiratory allergies. I used this product for so long and realized it was the source of sooo many random wtf issues. I've since learned eye creams are redundant.
Triple Algae Eye Renewal Balm Algenist
I looked at pictures of myself from a few years back when I used this religiously and my eyes were BUSTED. This was causing so many issues I couldn't even recognize at the time. Puffy, itchy eyes, and respiratory allergies. Never again.
