Yes, I'm (30s) slightly obsessed with skincare. I enjoy it as part of my selfcare regimen and of course because of the fantastic results. However, it took years of try and error to figure out what works for me and what doesn't. Psoreasis and Rosacea didn't make the journey easier. And still don't...
Yet, there is so much lovely skincare to discover! I like trying out new brands and products, but only one new at a time to avoid disrupting my current skin condition. Happy I achieved something that varies between Mochi, Honey and Glass Skin. (Which also depends on my physical and mental well-being, sleep, nutrition, stress and hormonal cycles.)
Avoiding: cotton/bamboo/textile pads, face wipes, face brushes, microplastics, and some questionable ingredients 🧐
Love: 🇰🇷 K-Beauty, 🎭 situational skincare, ⚖️ biocompatibility, 🔄 advanced skin cycling, 🪸 algae and plankton, 🪆 7 skin method, 🏺face oils for my dry skin
While I prefer products without silicones, I do use some that contain them, particularly sunscreens, moisturizers and makeup.
Ratings: I am rating products for what they aim or claim to do and not for what I wish them to do. 1-2 stars:👎; 3 stars: mediocre; 4-5 stars:👍. Everyone's skincare journey is a personal experience - what works for me, might not work for you, and the other way around.

Prepping my skin for further Microdermabresion Treatments.
The Algae Chemical Peel patch test behind my ear at first appeared to heal nicely, but later turned too irritated, red, and flaky. My dermatologist was surprised it didn't hurt given its appearance. We suspect it might be psoriasis that caused the adverse reaction after initially seeming to heal. Sensitive skin issues...
Opted for a gentler Microdermabresion instead (a cosmetic procedure that uses fine crystals and a vacuum to remove dead skin cells). I'll be having five more of these (making it six in total) in place of the planned three Algae Chemical Peels, all for 500.-, which is a good deal considering one session usually costs CHF 120.-. (Most likely less costly in other countries, everything is more expensive in Switzerland...)
🗓 08.02. - 05.04.2024 (8 weeks, Microdermabresion every 2 weeks)
Skin Cycling routines currently on hold
✴️ I was told to use only the following products (in particular the Active Foam, Pigmanorm® Cream and Eucerin Pigment SPF) for the duration of the planned Microdermabresions. After the treatment, skincare products work more effectively because they're getting right into the dermis rather than having to penetrate through a layer of dead skin cells. Gonna get rid of the remaining hyperpigmentation / dark spots once and for all now!
