How to read ingredients lists

An ingredients list for a product is the recipe. You can learn so much from an ingredients list, such as whether a product will do what it claims.

Order

Many countries require ingredients lists to order ingredients from most to least. This means the majority of your product is made up of the first few ingredients.

INCI

Most ingredient lists use INCI names for ingredients. INCI is the standardized method of naming ingredients.

An example of an INCI name is: Ascorbic Acid for Vitamin C.
