About Non-comedogenic product recommenations
Description
This guide is designed to help you navigate non-comedogenic skincare options. While I haven’t personally tested every product listed, I’ve included some based on positive reviews and recommendations I’ve come across.
To check for pore-clogging ingredients, I’ve referenced the following sources:
https://acneclinicnyc.com/pore-clogging-ingredients/ https://www.naturalacneclinic.com/pore-clogger-checker-tool/ https://www.bibalosangeles.com/pages/pore-clogger-checker https://emmediane.com/blogs/skin-tips/pore-clogging-ingredients https://www.skinvfacialspa.com/poreclogging-ingredients
However, it’s important to remember that comedogenic ratings aren’t one-size-fits-all. Some ingredients flagged as potentially clogging may not cause issues for everyone. When necessary, I do additional research, including looking into scientific studies, to better understand their effects.
Although some products in this guide are free of known comedogenic ingredients, I’ve chosen to exclude those containing alcohol or denatured alcohol, as they can be irritating—especially for those with concerns like enlarged pores.
For context, I have oily skin with enlarged and sometimes clogged pores. In the past, I focused mostly on surface concerns like oiliness and occasional breakouts, without addressing deeper congestion issues. It wasn’t until I learned from James Welsh that I realized the importance of targeting specific skin concerns rather than just relying on skin type labels. This shift has helped me find products that work better for my skin’s actual needs.
Moving forward, I’m committed to using non-comedogenic products that align with my skincare goals, and I hope this guide helps others do the same.
