Community Guidelines
Welcome to SkinSort! This is a community for skincare enthusiasts to share tips, product experiences, and advice. We want everyone to feel welcome here and have a few ground rules to keep things positive and helpful.
-
Be respectful:
Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. No insults, name-calling, or personal attacks. Constructive feedback is great; please just keep it kind.
-
Keep it about skincare:
This community is all about skincare: routines, ingredients, product questions, skin concerns, and everything in between. Please don't post off-topic content. If a personal situation is affecting your skin and you'd like advice on that, you're absolutely welcome to share; that's what we're here for.
-
Keep discussions on track:
Posts and comments should center on skincare. Debates about unrelated current events, world affairs, or other off-topic controversies may be removed, even when users feel strongly about them. This isn't a judgment on the topic itself, just a recognition that SkinSort isn't the right venue for it.
Disagreements about skincare are welcome and healthy; this community is better when people push back on claims and share different experiences. Keep it constructive rather than combative, and if a thread starts going in circles, it's okay to step away. Repeatedly steering conversations toward off-topic arguments, or engaging in personal attacks, may result in posts being removed or further action on the account.
-
No spamming:
Don't spam the community with ads, self-promotion, affiliate links, or irrelevant links. If you genuinely love a product, you're welcome to talk about it. Please be honest about it.
-
No harmful or offensive content:
Don't share anything that's harmful, offensive, or illegal. This includes explicit content, hate speech, and anything that promotes discrimination or violence. Be mindful of others' backgrounds and experiences. We don't make assumptions about anyone based on their appearance, gender, race, or other characteristics.
-
Respect privacy:
Don't share other people's personal information without their permission. This includes private messages, personal details, or any other sensitive info.
-
Don't play dermatologist:
It's totally fine to share what's worked (or hasn't worked) for you personally. But please don't diagnose other people's skin conditions or recommend specific medical treatments. If someone seems like they need professional help, the best thing you can do is encourage them to see a dermatologist.
-
Stick to the facts:
Sharing your personal opinions on products and ingredients is totally fine! That's what this community is for. But there's a difference between "this ingredient didn't work for me" and "this ingredient is toxic and will ruin your skin." Don't spread misinformation or make exaggerated, fear-based claims about ingredients or products.
We reserve the right to remove any content or members who violate these guidelines. Please report it to the community moderators if you see something that doesn't belong.
Thanks for being part of SkinSort! Let's keep it a great place for everyone.
